Deleting your Visor account
How to delete your Visor account and every ride stored on the server — from inside the app, or by email.
You can delete your Visor account and everything stored about you on the server. There are two ways to do it. Either one erases the same things.
In the app
- Open Visor.
- Tap Settings on the dash.
- Tap Account.
- Tap Delete Account….
- Read the three screens that follow — they list exactly what goes — and confirm with Delete Forever.
The deletion happens immediately. You are signed out on every device, and there is no undo.
By email, without the app
If you have uninstalled Visor or can't get into it, email ask@visor.cc with the subject "Delete my Visor account" and include your display name. Accounts have no email address attached, so I'll work with you to confirm the account is yours before deleting it.
I'll confirm and delete within 30 days of the request, usually much sooner.
What is deleted
- Your account record.
- Your display name.
- Your passkey credentials, and every active sign-in session on every device.
- Your entire ride history on the server — every position ever uploaded from your devices.
- Your contacts, in both directions, and any contact links or codes you have shared. Those links stop working immediately.
- Your riding-group membership and any ride invitations waiting for you or sent by you.
What is not deleted, and why
- Data on your phone. Deleting your account doesn't wipe the app on your device, the same way signing out doesn't. Delete the app to remove it, or export your rides as GPX first if you want to keep them.
- The passkey in your keychain. Apple and Google store passkeys, and apps cannot remove them. It stops working immediately, but you remove the entry itself in your phone's password settings.
- Crash diagnostics. Error reports already sent to Sentry are keyed to an account identifier that no longer maps to anyone. Sentry discards them on its own within 90 days.
- Server logs. Ordinary operational logs may hold IP addresses and request times for a short period before rotating out.
